Growing up as an identical twin, I experienced many who admired our similarities and commonality. It wasn’t until I grew older that I began to take risks and fight for my individuality.
Unrepeated celebrates human diversity in hopes of cultivating relationships across contrasting divides. We may all share a common form, but we differ in race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, income, skills, and countless other attributes. In many cultures, the history of intolerance is a long and callous one. To develop prosocial skills like empathy and forgiveness, in diverse societies, it is critical to cultivate and forge relationships across differences. We can all thrive when we appreciate and protect what is both universal and unique.
